Oscars 2015

If you’re a movie fanatic like I am you probably also really enjoy this time of year.  I love to make sure that I watch all the movies nominated for Oscars because it gives me a great list to work through and they’re all such great quality movie which makes it even more enjoyable to work my way down the list.

I was invited by Grazia magazine and ZebraSquare to attend their Oscars party at Cinema Nouveau in Rosebank Mall along with a screening of ”Wild” staring Reese Witherspoon.  I was so excited to put a posh frock on and get all glamorous for this red carpet affair.  I’m such a sucker for a theme!  Ryan looked ever so suave in his black suit and bow tie that I did a couple double takes.  What a handsome date.

We arrived at the cinema so find a life-size Academy Awards statue that lead the path to the red carpet where we had our photo taken.  Champagne was flowing, gorgeous eats and sweet treats were being served and all of Jo’burgs fashionable were chatting away and having a fabulous time.

Next thing, I looked at Ryan and he had gone as white as a sheet.  Seconds later he had broken out in a cold sweat and I was worried he was going to black out.  Ryan never, ever gets sick so I was quite worried!  I rushed to get him water while he sat in a corner.  As I rushed back I noticed he was burning up with a fever; he was boiling.  I told him that I think we should leave but said no, insisting that I have a good night. Ten minutes later though, we had no choice.  He was so ill.  As we reached the car he realised he had left his phone somewhere at the party so I got him into the car and then had to run through the shopping mall in a dress and heels praying it hadn’t been stolen.  Thankfully, two very sweet ladies we had been chatting to earlier had picked it up and they actually sought me out to give it to me.  I ran back through the mall, back to Ryan who at this stage looked awful and rushed him home.

Needless to say, we didn’t actually get to watch the movie, but that’s alright.  It looks like a fantastic movie so I will definitely try to watch it soon (next weekend maybe).  A huge thank you to Grazia for putting on such a wonderful Oscars party.  It was absolutely top notch!
