Forever New Styling Event

I was asked to host a styling event at Forever New this past weekend and focus on the theme of winter wear and also to create suggestions on what to wear for the Durban July this wear.  As you may have already noticed, a lot of my wardrobe consists of Forever New pieces because they are so elegant and feminine which is the essence of my own personal style.  I love the floral print that the brand incorporates into so many of their outfits.  The wide variety of coats suitable for all body types and personalities are wonderful.  I happen to own a few Forever New coats and every year I pull them out and wear them again because they are so timeless.  The silhouettes of the skirts are gorgeous and you can always find the perfect purse and accessories to finish off an outfit for a special occasion in store.

The new range in stores of Forever New is the Mono Pop range so I decided to dress two gorgeous models in this trend.  Stripes never go out of fashion so with bold black and white stripes you are bound to have a gorgeous staple item in your cupboard.  A fuchsia jacket or a cobalt coat adds another dimension and breaks up the bold stripes for a softer, more styled look.

For a trendy Durban July look, I would definitely lean towards a beautiful cropped top and a patterned midi skirt.  I think the two pair so wonderfully together and I would say this is my go-to look for the season.  It’s gorgeous!  A wool hat is the perfect alternative to a traditional fascinator and it is sure to protect you from the sun while you’re parading at the Durban July.  Finish the look off with a sparkly clutch and a gorgeous pair of shoes (seriously – how stunning are those shoes???) and you’re all set for a day at the races.
