Now at the end of July most of us are tired of the cold weather and dry air. The winter months definitely have an impact on my entire beauty routine from skin care, which make up products I use, the amount of lip balm and hand cream I go through and the season even has an impact on my hair care. I find more and more that I’m looking for nurishing and moisturising shampoos, conditioners and treatments specifically catering dry hair. The fact that my hair is so long is another reason why I take extra care of it. Thin, dry and brittle long hair makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up so I do everything in my ability to avoid being “that person”.
If you have been finding that your hair needs an extra bit of love and attention as a result of the harsh winter I have a couple wonderful products lined up for you to try:
TRESemme have a new Expert Selection for Platinum Strength in hair care that has been proven to reverse up to two years of damage to the hair which is incredible. The new formula has a renewing complex which is perfect for creating strong and resilient hair. In this Platinum Strength range I have been using the shampoo, conditioner and once or twice a week I have also used the Deep Conditioning Treatment. I am a firm believer in hair treatments to give your hair the extra boost it needs and I highly recommend this one.
Creighton’s have a new Argan Smooth Deep Moisture shampoo and conditioner which piqued my interest immediately as it is enriched with Moroccan Argan oil which is absolutely wonderful for your hair. This shampoo and conditioner duo really does pack a punch when it comes to deeply nourishing my hair and it is here that I should note that just a little bit of this product goes a very long way. My hair is pretty normal so I can get away with a couple days in between washes but the moisture that this shampoo and conditioner generated was putting back into my hair decreased the days I could go between washes but had it feeling so healthy and well nourished which is exactly what I had been wanting. I made the mistake of being a little bit too excited about this product and using far more than I needed resulting in my hair feeling weighed down after washing so do use it sparingly! If your hair is quite greasy I wouldn’t recommend these products for you as your natural oils don’t need the extra hydration that these products provide. If your hair is normal to dry, however, this is an incredible range to try and it is budget friendly too!
Lastly I have some new products in from L’Oreal Professional to assist in bad hair days. The Liss Unlimited Keratinoil Complex Soothing Masque is extraordinary at replenishing dry hair not to mention that it has the most incredible scent! It is suggested you apply this for 3 – 5 minutes, rinse and then use the Soothing Cream. These products are rich in kukui and evening primrose oil which have stood the test of time as far as essential beauty ingredients are concerned.
Styling your hair in winter can definitely zap the very last moisture out of your already fragile, dry or brittle hair so I try to limit styling to weekends and special occasions as far as possible but when I do style my hair I like to make sure that I use a serum on my ends to protect them as much as possible. The L’Oreal Professional Liss Unlimited Blow Dry Oil and Smoothing Double Serum are the ideal kind of products to be using in these situations and specially designed for that purpose. They will soothe, hydrate, nourish and boost the shine in your hair and overall glow which exactly what we are all looking for.
Have you tried any of these products? What are you favourite products to keep your mane in check during winter?
So many hair products! I like the argan sounds great – haven’t used it yet

Hi Leanne, thank you for a lovely review. Always great learning about new hair care products.
Just a question, where do you purchase the Loreal and Creightons range from?
Hi Zainub! The Creightons range is available in Pick ‘n Pay and the L’Oreal Professional range is available at any great hair studio affiliated to L’Oreal Professional. I hope that helps! Thanks so much for reading! x
Thank you so much.
Will definitely go have a look for them. Have a lovely day
Definitely need to give that Tresemme range a try!

Such a great post – and your photographs are gorgeous! I had no idea that Creightons have a haircare range – must check them out! x
Thank you so much Chereen! Creightons are definitely worth trying out. I was quite impressed buy the price and the fact that you can just pop the products into your trolley when doing groceries at Pick ‘n Pay just makes life that bit simpler. x
