New On My Beauty Desk

30th July 2015

brush egg yankee candle beauty blenderbeauty blenderyankee candle pink sands

I have a couple new items that have just arrived on my beauty desk and I couldn’t wait to share them with you.  I don’t know about you but in the busy world we live in where there are deadlines after deadlines, the rush from here to there, juggling a career with spending quality time with friends and family there leaves very little time for me to just sit quietly and just enjoy a moment to myself.  I use my beauty and makeup routine to do just this though.  In the mornings I schedule 10 to 15 minutes to just be peaceful and enjoy applying my skin care and a little bit of makeup.  Just a light amount of foundation, liner, mascara and lipstick is all I wear during the work week but it’s enough to give me the time-out I need.  I feel like I am so late to the party but I have finally introduced a Beauty Blender into my concealing routine.  I’m quite a proud mom to this little pink gem!

To embrace this “me-time” I love to light a Yankee Candle (this particular one is called Pink Sands)  for a gorgeous scent which adds to my relaxation.  Sometimes it’s all about the little things that make you happy and because a great scented candle really is something that relaxes me, I make sure that I always have one on my beauty desk.  Those of you who have been reading my blog for years will know that I’ve been through multiple of these incredible candles.  My favourite scents are Cranberry Chutney, Lavender Vanilla, Vanilla Cupcake and this one of course.

I like to keep my beauty desk clean and organised.  I wash my makeup brushes regularly and I have recently discovered this Brush Egg to ensure the deep cleansing of makeup brushes.  I’m really excited about this because I’ve always been worried about any residue product and dirt that might be stuck between the bristles of a makeup brush.  Unclean brushes can have an awful effect of putting bacteria on to your skin and I’ll do whatever it takes to avoid that.  I then store my clean brushes in decorative but practical glass holders on my beauty desk to make them easily accessible in the mornings when I don’t want to be scrambling around trying to find things when I actually want to have a moment’s peace.

“Me-time” really is so important in our busy lives.  Whether it is a long bubble bath, a glass of wine, meditation or even 10 minutes to do your make up in the morning, you deserve it.  Everything else will become more manageable if you entitle yourself to that little indulgence.  Don’t forget how important you are!

All three of these gorgeous new products on my beauty desk are available on www.sensesbeautysalon.co.za.  The online store sells so many of my favourite products from EOS balms, makeup storage, Real Techniques brushes and so many other wonderful things at such affordable prices.

Hi Sohane! It’s roughly the size of an egg and fits across two fingers 🙂

I have been searching literally the entire day looking for somewhere in SA to buy a new beauty blender. I got mine on rubybox a long time ago and even though it is a bit kaput I still use it. My little one got hold of it a week back, and now it’s missing. I was due to buy another one but tgis has made it urgent, and I could not find it anywhere. So I looked for blogs To see if I could find some joy this way, and everyone’s links are out dated, those companies are out of stock at the moment or no longer stock it all. I even got takes to some sites that had already closed down. Thankfully I pushed on that little bit even though I almost gave up.four Google pages worth of blogs later and I finally came across this post. Yay, and talk about luck you posted this only a few days ago. Thanks a ton.
I wish blogger would keep items like this updated with where we readers can find the items.
