I absolutely love long hair.  There is no denying that.  I think it’s beautiful.  I’ve had long hair for the majority of my life and I can’t imagine things changing too much in the future.  While my hair is long, however, it is really fine and can look limp and flat very easily if I don’t use the correct products and style it to be more voluminous.  Another secret that I have in my arsenal of hair tricks for luscious-looking hair is the wonderful invention of clip-in hair extensions.  I have played around with various types of clip-in hair extensions over the years but a few months ago Irresistible Me reached out and offered that I try their Silky Touch clip-in hair extensions.

As my hair is already long I opted for the 24″ length and 200g weight as my main reason for wearing extensions is volume rather than length.  I selected the Silky Ash Blonde shade thinking that looked the closest match to my hair.  Unfortunately, though, they weren’t the right shade for me being too dark and they had a hint of green in them that is missing from my hair.  To correct the shade I took the extensions to my hair dresser who coloured them to perfectly match my own hair colour.  I love that they have been custom coloured to my own hair colour with the addition of a slight balayage effect in them too.  It is really important to ensure that the colour matches your own perfectly otherwise the extensions may not blend into your hair and it may be quite noticeable that you’re wearing extensions which is definitely not what you want.

The 24″ 200g set comprises of 10 hair pieces and it is a lot of hair.  The Irresistible Me hair extensions are so soft, luxurious and so beautifully treated that you won’t want to wait to put them in.  I don’t generally wear all 10 pieces at one time unless I want a really full, thick hair look.  3 or 4 wefts is more than enough to create a voluminous effect.  My favourite thing about these extensions is how lush and beautiful a braid looks when I’m wearing them.  I can’t help but feel like Rapunzel and it puts the biggest smile on my face.

If you’re looking for great quality hair extensions for your wedding, 21st birthday or Matric Dance, I can highly recommend these.  They are 100% human hair which means you can colour them and use styling tools like hair straighteners and curling irons on them without damaging them at all.  As I said I have had them for a few months and they haven’t shown the slightest wear and tear up to this point so I’m thoroughly impressed.

Have you tried clip in extensions?  Would you try them?
