Michaela dress – Arum Lilea Collection | | (if you’re looking for another great pair, read this post)
The past month or so has been totally manic. We’ve had so much packed into our diaries and we’ve had so many exciting things happening all at once that it’s been crazy busy but so wonderful all at the same time. I thought that it was probably worth filling you in on the few of the life updates I have, if any of you were interested. Here’s goes!
1. We launched a new range to the Arum Lilea Collection
The most exciting of my latest life updates is the launch of the new Arum Lilea Collection. If you missed the launch of the latest Arum Lilea Collection, you can take a look at the new range here. It’s been a total joy working on the new pieces and I hope you love them as much as I do. I think they’ve arrived in perfect timing for spring. I’m wearing the Michaela dress from the latest collection in today’s post which you can shop right here. It’s the perfect dress to wear as wedding guest or to any special occassions you have in the upcoming months.
2. We bought a new car
Over the past couple of months, we anticipated that we probably needed to buy a car and Ryan had been looking at many different makes and models and I’d been called out to come out and look at a few. Suddenly he came across the perfect car right before we left for our wedding planning trip to Hermanus. I managed to go with him for the first quick look at it and then he took my dad and his cousin to take a look at it the next morning while I rushed off into the office to wrap up a few things. We decided that it was all systems go so we actually closed the deal while we were down there and came home to collect our new car! Needless to say, that was a really unexpected but exciting life update. I can’t wait to share more details so keep your eye out for our new car reveal in an upcoming vlog.
3. Plant-based diet & reduction in single-use plastic
If you happen to follow my YouTube channel, you would probably have already gathered that I eat a largely vegetarian diet but recently I’ve been making the move towards a mainly plant-based diet. I stopped eating red meat back in high school but I’ve now cut out chicken too. I’m not too strict on myself so I’ll still eat fish occassionally but I’d guess I’m eating a 90% plant-based diet and it feels great. I’m so happy about the impact that this slight change will have on the environment that it makes it very rewarding. I’m also much more aware of where my produce is sourced from and it’s amazing how much taste and flavours can differ depending on how the produce was grown. We’ve always been very good about recycling and refusing single-use plastic but it seems that every grocery trip we do, we manage to improve. The fresh farm produce is rarely packaged in plastic and often that is the best produce so it’s a win-win really!
4. Starting a new job
You may already aware that I work in the legal profession. In between our wedding planning trip, buying a new car and launching the new Arum Lilea Collection, I also happened to finish up at one company and starting a new position at a new company. I’m still working as a legal eagle so that hasn’t changed but it’s all the little things like finding your way around the new office and remembering people’s names that has been a little bit of a challenge but I’m looking forward to embracing the new role completely. Wish me luck!
I hope that this life update gives you a little bit of insight as to what has been going on in my life lately. Sorry if things have been a little quiet around here but now you may understand why. I’m hoping that things will calm down now and we can continue with programming as per usual. Let me know if there is anything in particular you’d like to see in an upcoming blog post and I’ll be sure to include your suggestions!
