Hi everyone! This time period is going so quickly so I thought I’d capture a few maternity pictures at the 29 week mark over the weekend because we are heading into the single digits in terms of weeks left of this pregnancy. I’m due to be induced the week of Christmas so the due date is fast approaching and there’s still plenty to do before our little Christmas miracle arrives.
We’re having our baby shower this coming weekend which I am SO excited for! Next month we have a trip to Cape Town and three wedding coming up which means it’s going to such a wonderful month of celebrations. In between those festivities, we also have our prenatal classes, a 40th and two kiddies parties so things are really heating up in the run up to the end of the year as they always do. Needless to say, I’m really trying to enjoy the moment and not let time simply pass me by. I always looked at pregnant mommies rubbing their bellies and now I absolutely love being in this position. It truly is the most beautiful phase of life.
To give you a little bit of a baby bump update, I’m still trying to stay as active as possible. I’m doing light weights, yoga, pilates and daily dog walks to try and keep myself as fit as possible and engage all the muscles I’ll need for the birth. I’m also trying to incorporate as much stretching as possible because I’ve been suffering a lot with lower back pain and leg cramps in the middle of the night and staying active helps. My energy is waning a little and I’m finding myself a little out of breath if I talk too much or walk to quickly. He is kicking and moving so much that it makes me smile from ear to ear. He’s most active when I lay down in bed but he’s also moving throughout the day at this point. According to my pregnancy app, he is now the size of a pineapple. So far we have our pram and we’ve ordered our rocking chair. I’ve started our baby’s book collection and have collected a few newborn clothes, bottles and blankets. I’ve been given the list of my hospital bag requirements so I’ll slowly start putting that together after the coming weekend. Let me know if you’d be interested to see what all I’ve been buying and I’ll put a post together if you like.

In other news, I’m currently on my third book for the October Readathon. I’m busy reading The Whispering by Rebecca Netley which has just come out in time for Halloween so if you’re looking for some Gothic literature for spooky season, I highly recommend this one! I’m delighted to see all your reading updates on Instagram so please keep tagging me in them!
