You may remember this post that I wrote last year. I actually loved the concept so it’s time for a little bit of an updated version of things I’ve been loving lately.
LATELY I’VE BEEN…
Watching – I haven’t watched much television in the last 6 months at all but most recently I’ve watched season 2 of Bridgerton on Netflix as well as Frozen and the Kardashians on Disney+. I’m so excited about Disney+ but haven’t been able to sit down and enjoy it just yet. I’m really looking forward to watching Cruella, Luca and finishing off the Aristocats. If you have any recommendations, please let me know!
Reading – I’ve been reading a really creepy book called “You Let Me In” by Camilla Bruce. I’m about halfway and not sure about it if I’m honest. Something weird is going on and the reader is currently still left in the dark. I’m curious to see where the story goes so I’m sure I’ll finish it soon. I’m also busy reading “Weaning Sense” by Meg Faure as I’m introducing Teddy to solids. I love the philosophy of introducing fresh, healthy food and encouraging great eating habits from the start so I’ve really enjoyed this book. By the way, Meg Faure has an app called Parent Sense which includes recipes and menus for you baby each day. I LOVE it! You can download it here. I have a long Arum Lilea Book Club review coming up so stay tuned for that.
Eating – out way more than I should. This past week alone, I’ve probably had two or three dinners at home. My sister-in-law has been visiting from Switzerland and its been incredible to have her here but it means there’s been plenty of socialising out and about. We have really enjoyed Liban in Pankhurst, Olives and Plates at Wits, George’s Grill, Moms & O and Doppio for all sorts of different meals. Going forward, though, I’m hoping to do more eating at home. I am really struggling with the bath time, feed time, bedtime routine which happens at the same time that I’d usually make dinner so hopefully my husband reads this and cooks a batch of his delicious lentil curry.
Looking for – Things that inspire me. Whether that’s a good book, beautiful photos, music, a success story, passages of scripture, nature, etc. I’m having a lot of fun collecting these things.
Planning – My time. I’m still trying to figure out how all these moms manage to accomplish so much in one day. I’m desperate to get into a fitness routine again. I’m constantly on the trot between mom tasks and work tasks so I’m not quite achieving the balance I’d like to have but I’m sure I’ll figure it out as I go. I’m planning on doing 2 pilates lessons a week, reading 2 books a month and a trip to Ballito to see our friends next month.
Using – Cetaphil’s face moisturiser and Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream to beat the dry air. I’m also using Redken’s Brown Lights shampoo to keep my colour vibrant and to avoid any brassiness. My hair colour started going red/coppery from using a box dye (I know, I know), and between a great toner and using this shampoo, I’ve manage to start correcting my hair colour. Hooray!
Loving – absolutely any moment I am able to spend with my baby boy. I love our Sunday Mom’s & Tots routine followed by trips to the library. I love his giggles and the way he smiles first thing in the morning. He’s become so vocal so we have moments of chatting and singing during the day and it’s the sweetest thing ever. I’m so lucky to have this ray of sunshine in my life.

You are so cute and I am loving your long frock. Long dresses are pretty much in trend now a days. Loved the color and print of your dress.
