I have been wearing Paco Rabanne Olympéa for the past month or so as you would already know if you follow me on Instagram (@arumlilea) or Snapchat (arumlilea). You might even remember me mentioning it in this post too. Paco Rabanne Olympéa encapsulates the essence of a woman with its strong feminine scent that is oh-so sexy. This fragrance actually piqued my usually very indifferent boyfriend’s curiosity the first time I wore it and that is a huge compliment on its own. Today I wanted to share my review of this fragrance with you so that you can learn a little bit more about it before heading into store and adding it to your (ever growing) perfume collection.
To begin with, Paco Rabanne Olympéa has the most beautiful and ever so eye-catching rose gold bottle. This immediately sets it apart from other perfumes in less attractive bottles and it doesn’t hurt that I’m majorly obsessed with anything rose gold either. The shape of the bottle is said to represent a laurel wreath crown which I, personally, think it does beautifully. A laurel crown and the name Olympéa lead me to my next point. The name of this perfume was chosen based on the concept of the perfume aiming to inspire a modern Greek goddess. The woman who dares to wear this perfume is strong, dynamic and not afraid to conquer just as an ancient Greek goddess would have. This fragrance is the feminine equivalent of Invictus which Paco Rabanne launched in 2013 and, together, both fragrances represent the strength of both men and women. I am always curious to know what went on in the mind of the creator of a perfume. It always makes me better understand the fragrance and gives it a little story behind it too. When this one revealed a historical look at the strength of a woman I was immediately intrigued.
Paco Rabanne Olympéa has a combination of salty and floral elements. It is an oriental fragrance with notes of sparkling green mandarin, water jasmine, ginger lily and salted vanilla. It also has base notes of sandalwood, cashmere and ambergris. I love how exotic this fragrance is. It is not your typical sweet, floral fragrance. There is something very special and very alluring about it. It is also extremely long lasting which, you know by now, is something that I always look for when testing out a new fragrance. I’m really not interested in a fragrance that wears off a couple hours after you’ve worn it, especially when you pay so much for fragrance. This one last days! “Eww, Leanne, don’t you shower,” you might ask and and fear not, I do 😉 The scent, however, lingers on to everything I touched in the time that I wore the fragrance. I find it stays in my hair, on my pillow case, on my jackets and even lingers in my car for days after I’ve worn the fragrance. That quality is really quite remarkable.
So that’s my review of this fragrance. I have absolutely nothing bad to comment on. From the idea that inspired the fragrance, the laurel wreath shaped bottle that is beautifully created in rose gold to the exotic, rich oriental scent and its longevity, I would have to say that Paco Rabanne created an extremely exquisite fragrance when they created Olympéa. If someone special want’s to buy you a special Christmas present, I suggest adding this perfume to your list.
Have you tried Paco Rabanne Olympéa? If so I’d love it if you gave me your mini review in the comment section down below.
