Hi everyone! I’ve been wanting to start a beauty series this year for all you beauty lovers. Whether it’s particular products, routines, skin care treatments, hair styling tips, etcetera, I’ll be discussing it all in this new Beauty Fix series. To kick things off, we’re going to start with one of the ABCs of skincare: a daytime skincare routine.
Over the years, dermatologists have reminded me that you really need to stick with a simple skincare routine that really works for you. The key elements of your daytime skincare clean skin and SPF. So long as you’re consistent with those two, you are on a winning streak. If you are not using SPF daily, now’s your friendly reminder to start. You won’t believe what a difference sunscreen alone can make in a person’s daily routine.
If you read my Bridal Skincare Routine post, you will know that I love to use a Dove soap bar as my go-to facial cleanser. So simple right? But so effective! I keep a bar and a stack of flannels for daily use and it honestly works so well. If I feel as though I need a deeper clean, I’ll go in with the too.
Eating a healthy diet is so important for the skin because it allows us to absorb so many vitamins that are essential for healthy, glowing skin. Some vitamins, such as Vitamin C, can also be applied topically on the surface of the skin. This can boost radiance and brighten the skin. In the mornings, I love to apply the to freshly cleansed skin for that healthy, nourished glow.
I like to keep my skin as hydrated as possible and for the past year, I’ve been using the which is super light and absorbent on the skin but works incredibly well at hydrating my skin. It’s not oily at all so it skins straight into my skin. I like to safe the thick moisturisers for my nighttime skincare routine so this one is perfect for the daytime.
Lastly and, as I mentioned, most importantly, I use an SPF every single day. It is so important whether you work indoors or not. The damage that the sun can do to your skin is dreadful and it happens gradually so don’t be fooled – you need it. It’s also extremely important to be using SPF when it comes to additional skincare treatments but we’ll chat more about that topic in a future Beauty Fix post.
For now, keep your daytime routine simple: clean skin, a little hydration and a whole lot of SPF. Here’s a list of my recommended products for a perfect daytime skincare routine:
I hope you are excited about this Beauty Fix series. If there’s any particular skincare topic that you’d like me to discuss, please let me know. I’d love this series to be super useful for everyone. Leave me a comment if you have a request for anything beauty related and I’ll make sure to cover it within the Beauty Fix series.
