As you know, I’m completely obsessed with Elizabeth Arden’s lipsticks. They are so moisturising and long-wearing that I find that no other brand of lipstick can even compete. Never do I end up with dry lips and I can go all day wearing a single application of a bold red or pink lip without it wearing off after lunch and copious amounts of tea. I think they are the most underrated lipsticks around and whenever anyone asks me for recommendations on lipsticks, Elizabeth Arden’s Moisturizing Lipsticks are the ones that I recommend 100% of the time. Much to my excitement, Elizabeth Arden has just added eight matte shades to their lipstick range.
Matte shades are the ones that can tend to make your lips look chapped and generally require exfoliating your lips before use but these Elizabeth Arden Matte Lipsticks are made up of such great ingredients that this isn’t even a possibility. Mango, shea and murumuru butters are all natural moisurisers that keep your lips soft and nourished while wearing these lipsticks. They are also rich in pigment which combined with the moisture means that the colour will last longer. The ingredients are so incredible that the moisture they provide will even give you a fuller, plumper pout which is just an added bonus!
The packaging of these beauties is gorgeous. I love the gold, Red Door embossed design of the lipstick case. There is something special about whipping out this gold bar to apply my lipstick. It really makes me feel glamorous. It is also at this stage that I should mention that I love the moment I take the lid off the lipstick and catch a whiff of its fragrance. All those yummy butters smell delicious.
The eight shades of the Elizabeth Arden Matte Lipsticks are Barely There, Bold Red, Chocolate (such a fun one!), Coral Crush, Nude, Pink Pucker, Raspberry and Rose Petal. I can’t decide which one I love more at this stage.
The new Elizabeth Arden Matte Lipsticks are available from February in Edgars, Foschini, Truworths and Woolworths at the price of R220.00. If you can’t wait that long, I suggest you go try the shades that are already available in store while you wait. My favourite shades are Ultra Violet, Electric Pink and Red Door Red (of course).
