Sun City

Hi everyone!  If you follow me on Twitter or Instagram (@ArumLilea), you will already know that I’ve been in Sun City on holiday this past week.  It’s been such an amazing holiday.  We’ve been on ”safari” or game drives through the Pilansberg game reserve and we’ve seen so many animals.  We had hippo by the pool one morning, we’ve seen tons of elephants, a male lion with a beautiful mane, giraffe and so much more wild life.  We’ve had dinner and drinks in the middle of the reserve and there is absolutely nothing else in the world quite as wonderful as that.

The main purpose of my stay here has been golf.  We came to watch the Nedbank Golf Challenge with le bf’s family but we came a few days early so that they could play golf themselves for a couple days.  I don’t play any golf at all but I’ve been quite happy to tag along and sit by the pool each day that they have been playing.  I did watch the Golf Challenge though which was so much fun.  The weather was absolutely boiling though so I probably spent more time in the marquee than I did on the course.

We’ve been staying at The Palace of the Lost City in Sun City and it’s an absolutely incredible hotel.  I would love to pack my bags and move in permanently.  The last time I stayed here was a good couple of years ago so it has been wonderful to revisit this gorgeous hotel.  My favourite part about the hotel is the pianists that play on a Steinway & Sons full grand piano during breakfast, high tea and dinner in the Crystal Ballroom.  (Here’s a tidbit of info I don’t think I’ve ever shared before: I’m actually a piano player myself).   If you’re looking for a place to stay just outside of Johannesburg, this is definitely the place for you.  Everything from wildlife, pools, great weather, casinos, shows, stunning sunsets, hikes and spas are right at your finger tips any hour of the day.
