Hout Bay, Cape Town

We drove from one end of the bay to the other stopping to stand on the beach at each side.  On the one side I could see the sun as it was setting in the bay and from the other side I could see the spectacular colours of the sunset projected on to the mountain.  It was an extraordinary experience to be surrounded by nature and all its beauty simultaneously.  Sunset, ocean, mountains, beach sand, seals and sea gulls.  What bliss.

Le BF then took me to The Wharfside Grill which is a restaurant along the dock of the yacht harbour.  It is the most adorable restaurant.  The waiters’ uniform comprises of sailors outfits which is just so cute.  The interior of the restaurant is done up like an old ship cabin which I absolutely loved!  The menu is drool-worthy.  It was just so hard to decide what to have for dinner.  We decided on the garlic mussels as a starter followed by my seafood curry and le bf’s traditional fish and chips.  The restaurant has a prime location and we received stellar service.  For all these reasons I would go so far as to say it was one of the best places I’ve eaten at around the world.

Our little date night adventure to Hout Bay was perfect.  After dinner we went and took a few long exposures of the view from the promenade.  It was such a wonderful (and super romantic) experience to explore Hout Bay and all its beauty and I’m so glad we did.
