How to style a military jacket

While I was in Dubai the weather was generally very warm throughout the day but at night I needed a light jacket if I was going to be spending the evening outside.  I decided to pack this olive military jacket with me for our trip and I’m so glad I did because I used it often.  To me, an olive military jacket is something that everyone should own as it really is a key piece in anyone’s wardrobe.

This particular day started of a little bit cloudy in the morning and as we popped out for a quick Starbucks run in the Madinat Jumeirah, I threw this military jacket on over a white t-shirt and white denim jeans.  I also wore a pair of nude heels and threw on my Ray-Ban aviators for a casual but chic look.  By the time we had finished our coffee the temperature had increased but luckily this jacket is so lightweight that I just rolled up the sleeves and carried on wearing it throughout the day.

A military jacket is such a versatile piece that you can wear it either extremely casually or you can dress it up.  In the winter you can style it with a long chambray denim top, a great pair of leggings with a pair of booties.  It’s also a great piece to have when travelling so that you have something warm with you in freezing airports and long haul flights.  I would also say this is a key piece to keep in your wardrobe for music festivals as it can so easily be thrown on over a crop top, denim shorts and paired with Hunter boots or Converse.  I really love the many ways you can style a military jacket.  I’ve had so much use out of mine so I’m really glad I picked mine up when I did.

What is your favourite jacket style?

Mr Price military jacket (love this version, and this version is currently on sale!)
Woolworths t-shirt (this is a great one)
Woolworths white denim jeans (love these)
Zoom heels (these Steve Madden’s are so much more comfortable!)
Ray-Ban aviator sunglasses
