Lately I’ve come across a few wonderful new products that have taken centre stage on my beauty desk. With the launch of Urban Decay I think many of us are going to be trying so many new products from the brand. I have already spoken about my love for the Urban Decay Naked 3 palette in this post but I have a few more products to share with you today. In addition to those, Maybelline has brought out a few new products that you need to add to your makeup bags. So for all you makeup junkies out there, let’s hop to it!
New from Urban Decay
If you follow me on Twitter or Snapchat (arumlilea) you will have seen that I attended the launch of Urban Decay in South Africa last week Thursday. It was such an amazing experience to spend time learning about the products and how to use them. I’ve been testing a few new products since then and I’m excited to share them with you. For starters I’ve been using the single pot eyeshadow in the shade YDK which is a shimmery taupe colour with incredible pigment and colour pay-off. It’s such a beautiful shade that I’ve been wearing it on its own and I’ve also incorporated it into a smokey eye too and it adds such a gorgeous dimension and really makes your eyes pop. I think this is a universal shade that will look good with any eye colour and on any skin tone.
I have also been testing the Urban Decay matte lipstick in Disturbed. This is a really dramatic, chocolate coloured shade that is perfect for a really bold look. This shade definitely isn’t for the faint-hearted. It’s for the girl that’s not afraid of a little edge which I love from time to time when the mood strikes me. If you’re a fan of matte lips you will love this product. I wore this lip all day and night with only a few touch ups. I did struggle a bit with my lips looking very chalky towards the end of the evening so I would suggest you keep this gorgeous shade for short time period only.
The Urban Decay Good Karma Finishing Brush is a new addition to my brush collection. It’s perfect for applying setting powder and I will definitely be getting great use out of it.
New from Maybelline
Maybelline have just launched the Face Studio blushes which come in a wide variety of different shades. My two favourite shades are Rose Madison and Dare To Pink which are beautiful pink shades. There are a number of gorgeous coral and peach shades in the range too. Their swivel top packaging is truly unique and adds to a great, high quality product.
In addition to the blushes Maybelline has also released a number of stunningly beautiful Color Sensational matte lipsticks. My two favourite shades are Rose Rush which is a very girly, light pink and Magnetic Magenta which is a deeper shade which is just gorgeous. To further the range of Maybelline’s matte lip products, they have introduced the Vivid Matte Liquid and I think these are such great products because they aren’t drying on the lips which is very rare to come by. These products have a creamy, moisturising texture on the lips while still providing a matte effect.
