How to wear a T-shirt dress

Everyone needs a little black dress in their wardrobe and it doesn’t hurt when that it is a t-shirt dress.  This cotton t-shirt dress is a lot more comfortable than it looks purely for the reason that it is, in essence, a long t-shirt.  It is made from the same light-weight fabric as a regular t-shirt and yet it is so versatile.  I have dressed it up with a trench coat, pearls and a sophisticated bun with red lipstick and high heels but I’ve also dressed it down and worn it with a denim jacket and flat sandals for a casual look.  I last featured this dress in this blog post if you’d like to take a peek at that.

In today’s post I thought I would share how to style a t-shirt dress because they are so wonderful to wear in the summer months because you look chic but you don’t need to feel restricted or hot in heavy fabric.  I’ve worn mine here with a boater hat and an envelope clutch.  Not quite the look you would wear to work but it’s just another way in which I hoped I could inspire you to style yours.  As you know, I’m all for versatility and ensuring that you get the most wear possible out of your clothing.
