What to wear on Valentine’s Day

It’s always around this time of year that I realise how few red items I own.  It always makes dressing for Valentine’s Day a bit of a problem.  This year as I asked myself what to wear on Valentine’s Day I thought I couldn’t possibly be the only girl out there with the same issue.  As we still have some time on our hands before the day arrives, I decided that it would be great (not to mention, extremely helpful) to round up a bunch of different options for different types of girls, styles and price points.  I would be extremely happy wearing any of these selections (though the jumpsuit would be very daring for me) but I thought that most of you reading this blog probably have a similar dress sense to me and would like these choices too. 

A jumpsuit or a playsuit, I think, are such wonderful alternatives to the usual standard red dress on Valentine’s Day.  Add a bit of lace and that adds an element of elegance and grace to any outfit.  If you are more traditionalist and prefer to wear a dress on Valentine’s Day, why not play with an unusual neckline?  A boat neck or a sheer V-neck are ever so stunning.  If you would like something soft and poised, look for something with lots of light fabric for a romantic look.

If you’re anything like me, you will probably be celebrating Valentine’s Day straight after work with either cocktails or a dinner date and won’t have time to head home beforehand which means you’ll need to be as good as ready when you leave the house that morning.  For this reason I’ve added a few work-appropriate dresses that are gorgeous enough to wear on a date.  As a matter of fact, you could wear these to an engagement party, birthday, wedding or any kind of event at all which is just the kind of dress I like to hang in my wardrobe.
