Why every girl should own a midi skirt

Today I thought I would share the reasons why every girl should own a midi skirt.  If you’ve been reading my blog for a while you will already know that I wear these skirts quite often.  I have quite a few midi skirts hanging in my wardrobe ranging in different colours, stiffness and fabrics.  You might not believe me but I honestly find midi skirts to be among the most versatile items in my wardrobe.  While you might believe that these skirts are only suitable for the office (which is exactly where I was headed right after these pictures were taken) that is only one of the reasons for owning a midi skirt.  Paired with a shirt as I did in this post, a midi skirt is the perfect combination of elegance and business rolled into one.

I also love to wear my midi skirts to birthday dinners and cocktails with friends with a little bit more of a fun flare thrown in.  I wore a midi skirt with a strapless body suit in this post for a bit of a different look.  I also love to play with different shoulder detailing to add an interesting mix to such a feminine skirt as you will remember from this post and this post.

For a casual but elegant weekend look, don’t be afraid to pair your midi skirt with knitwear as I did in this post (one of my favourite ways to style it) or with a denim chambray blouse like I did in this post.  I have even been known to style a midi skirt with a crop top (seen here) and a t-shirt (golden oldie over here).

Don’t be afraid to play with the way you style a midi skirt.  It need not only be worn to work but can easily be worn to brunch, a wedding, cocktail parties, date nights and pretty much any occasion under the sun.  They really are such versatile pieces which is the very reason why I love adding them to my wardrobe.  I can guarantee that you will not only fall in love with them but also get your money’s worth out of wearing them too.  I hope you found this post helpful.  Please comment down below if you enjoyed it!  Thanks so much for reading.
