How to create an inspiring workspace

7th September 2017

How to create an inspiring workspace

In the last quarter of the year, it’s easy to fall into a slump, feel tired, perhaps stressed and maybe even uninspired.  In order to reignite your zest for life and inspire your workflow, why not jazz up your workspace.  You might be wondering how to create an inspiring workspace.  Whether you work from home, in an open-plan cubical or in an office, here are a couple items that could help you create an inspiring workspace.

Notebooks

Firstly, everyone always needs a notebook.  Why not make it a cute one.  I write all my to-do lists and meeting notes in my notebook so they always come in very handy.

World map wall art

I think it’s very important to keep your goals and dreams close to your workspace because when you’re feeling unmotivated, a glance at these will kick you into gear and inspire you to work hard to reach them.  As you know, travel is my favourite past time.  I’ve selected this world map as inspiration to do just that.

Rose gold desk lamp

When working hours become extended and it’s time to burn the midnight oil, a desk lamp is a must.  I love this rose gold version.  It makes for a gorgeous looking workspace.

Headphones

Drown out the surrounding noise to allow yourself to focus on the task at hand.  I’m at a stage where I always have my headphones on my desk ready to plug in and zone out of the rest of the world.  (FYI I love playing movie soundtracks while I work – is that random?)

Unicorn mug

I always keep a mug on my desk.  I love to use a cute mug as a pencil holder because I really like the look of it.  I also need another mug for the copious about of tea that I drink.

Camera

If you’re a blogger, you will need a camera handy for any product shots that you may need for your Instagram.  I keep mine close to my desk ready for any shots that I need.

Desk chairs

Life is too short to sit in an ugly chair.  You spend an unbelievable amount of time in your chair.  You might as well make it reflective of your personal style and, most importantly, make sure that it’s comfortable.

Coffee table

A coffee table can jazz up any workspace and make it a little more inspiring.  It will be the perfect place for fresh flowers and perhaps a sweet jar for that 4pm sugar craving.

Phone cover

I don’t know about you but I spend my life on my phone thanks to the nature of my work.  A cute phone cover is an instant pick-me-up every time I answer a call.  I love choosing inspiring ones to remind me throughout the day that I am capable of absolutely anything I set my mind to.

I hope that I’ve helped you find some key pieces to help you create the perfect workspace to inspire you and channel all your energy into your work.  All these items are available on Superbalist.  Download the Superbalist’s app today and receive R250 off your first order.
