I haven’t don’t a favourites post in a while so since we are now in March (can you believe it?) I decided I’d whip together a February Beauty Favourites round up for you. I still have quite a few more products to share with you this month but I thought this would be a good start to exactly that.
L’oreal Paris Infallible 24H Matte Foundation
Over the past three years I have tended to gravitated towards dewy and glowing finishes in a foundation but after trying L’oreal Paris Infallible 24H Matte foundation I can definitely say that I’ve fallen back in love with a matte finish. I’m not sure why but I’ve come so accustomed to foundations being packaged in a glass bottle that when I received this foundation in a plastic tube I was quite hesitant, subconsciously, thinking that it would be a product of lesser quality purely based on its packaging. Here, I have to say, the proverb, “don’t judge a book by its cover” applies ten-fold. Don’t be fooled, this foundation is super luxurious and the fact that it is packaged in plastic is actually more advantageous than glass packaging because, if you’re a girl on the move like I am, you don’t need to worry about dropping the bottle and smashing it into a million pieces.
This is a really full coverage foundation so if you have any blemishes, freckles or uneven skin tone, this foundation is going to erase all of that an there is no ways you will be able to see through it. I’ve noticed that this foundation is also one that looks better the longer you wear it. It seems to appear more natural throughout the day which is great because so often by the end of the day I notice that my foundation has worn off or broken up throughout the day which is really annoying. This foundation is perfect the days where you have an early start at work but you have a dinner after work with no time to stop and refresh your makeup in between because it is not going to loose its coverage or break up at all but rather look even better (amazing, right?). One of my friends described this foundation as giving a perfect, airbrushed skin effect and I couldn’t have described it better. To the touch, it has a velvety soft texture that makes your skin feel soft and gentle rather than sticky like other formulations of foundation. I also really appreciate that this foundation is very lightweight. I really value that because I don’t like feeling the weight of makeup on my skin at all.
Needless to say this foundation has actually exceeded every one of my expectations. That wasn’t easy considering I like glass bottles, dewy finishes and particular weighted foundation but my gosh this foundation has had me break out of the mold and now I cannot rave about it enough. You know when you find a product that every compliments you on? Well this is that product and for that reason alone it deserved a space in my February Beauty Favourites.
L’Oreal Paris Xtreme Resist Lipgloss
These lipglosses I have already mentioned in my Favourite Pink Lipsticks post and there is good reason for mentioning them again in my February Beauty Favourites. These are super glossy lipglosses. It’s not very often you find yourself such glossy lipglosses which is why I thought I should mention them once again. In my opinion, these are the lipglosses that are perfect for the everyday woman who wants to look glamorous but doesn’t have forty minutes to do her makeup every morning. These lipglosses are translucent so they aren’t bold and over the top so they are perfect to add to a quick morning routine and give you a beautiful, gentle amount of colour which will look great with foundation, mascara and a bit of blush. No one will ever know how quick your routine really is because these lipglosses pull everything together so beautifully giving you a touch of colour and a whole lot of gloss.
The colours pictured here are My Sky Is The Limit (pink), Bulletproof (red), Resist Me (nude) and Who’s The Boss (plum). [Sorry guys I seem to have misplaced the coral colour which is no doubt lying in a handbag somewhere].
Huda Beauty Lashes
Okay, let me be perfectly honest. These lashes are NOT okay on a South African budget. The Rand is lashing us at the moment. However, while I was in Dubai, these lashes are something I could not leave without. I splurged on two sets of lashes in the styles Farah and Scarlett. They were so expensive that I kind of take them out every now and again just to look almost like collectors items which is crazy but once you seethe style and the shape you immediately realise the quality of these cannot be compared to any others. I’ll film a makeup tutorial soon where you will be able to see them so you can appreciate how gorgeous they are too. I’m obsessed!!!
That’s it for my February Beauty Favourites. I hope you found this round up and beauty review helpful. Let me know which product you’re looking forward to trying!

Did you find that the Infallible Matte foundation sunk into your skin really fast? I have to apply it really quickly in order for the coverage to be even and smooth

Actually I really like foundations in a tube because they travel so well. I don’t have to worry about them breaking in my bag or leaking.
