August Beauty Favourites

During the month of August, I was lucky enough to come across a few gems so I knew I needed to share an August Beauty Favourites post with you so you could join in my excitement and try out a few new products of your own.  There is a range of skincare and makeup products as well as a new reasonably-priced fragrance which I love in this August Beauty Favourites.

If you’ve been reading my blog for many years, you will remember that I fell in love with Kiehl’s products way back when (I still absolutely love the products I mentioned in this post).  I decided to incorporate a few more Kiehl’s products back into my current beauty routine because I find an immediate difference in my skin when I do.  I added the Kiehl’s Powerful-Strength Line-reducing Concentrate to my routine as a serum to be used directly after cleansing my skin and I’ve fallen in love with this product.  It feels a little like mild pins and needles in your face when it is sinking in and I love the way my skin reacts to it.  I’m all for prevention when it comes to fine lines so the addition of this product was a no-brainer for me.  I have also incorporated the Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream into my routine as a general, light moisturiser.  I typically like a thick moisturiser for my dehydrated skin but this one is working well.  I have to be so careful with moisturisers because far too often I have an allergic reaction to them and have inflamed, teary eyes and, luckily for me, Kiehl’s is a brand that has never given me this type of reaction which I’m all too grateful for.  When I’m looking for a little something extra for my skin, I’ve really enjoyed the Kiehl’s Cilantro & Orange Extract Pollutant Defending Masque.  I’ve been using this masque weekly and in the height of our dry season, my skin is truly thanking me for this treatment.  It smells so fresh and minty that it instantly puts me in a zen-like state which is well appreciated too.

It comes as no surprise that I’m a true Urban Decay junkie (read here and here).  Needless to say, I was eagerly waiting for the Urban Decay Born To Run palette to be released and it didn’t disappoint.  The colours are spectacular.  Pigmentation is outstanding.  The packaging has stolen my heart (Travel-inspired?  Are you kidding me?!).  The mirror is amazing.  I cannot fault this palette at all.  If I die, lay this palette in my grave with me.  The next very exciting product I’ve enjoyed this month is the  Urban Decay Sin Afterglow palette.  It is a blush and highlight palette with a few of Urban Decay’s most popular shades.  This palette is honestly incredible and by far the best blush and highlight palette I’ve ever come across.  Usually, I find the quality of blush shades and highlighters are compromised when they’re sold in a palette and find it’s better to buy them individually so I had major reservations about this one.  This being said, I found this palette to be rather outstanding.  The shades are beautiful and the payoff is equally so.  I have a personal affinity for rose and light pink shades when it comes to blush and this palette is everything I could have dreamed of.  Again, the packaging is gorgeous! That hot pink and purple looks really spectacular in my makeup drawer and makes me so excited to whip it out.

It’s also worth mentioning that I’ve also come across a very well-priced fragrance that is truly beautiful.  The Cacharel Yes I Am EDP is a very sensual and seductive fragrance but the bottle is worth every penny spent as a dressing table decoration alone.  Isn’t the lipstick shape delightful?  I immediately thought that this is something my sister would positively swoon over.  If you’re looking for a great gift for the girly-girls in your life, I’d highly suggest this fragrance.  I know they will love it!

I hope you’ve enjoyed this August Beauty Favourites round-up.  I know that all these products are going to come in handy with the change in season which is very exciting.  Can you believe we’re in September already?  If you fell in love with any products in the past month that you think I should try, please leave them in the comment section below.  Have a wonderful day!
