I’ve decided that I would start a wedding series of blog post to document the wedding planning process and all the steps I’m taking to ensure I look my absolute best on the big day. The first thing I’ll be sharing in this series is my bridal skin care routine. I want to do everything I can to ensure my skin is radiant and glowing on my wedding day. I’ve incorporated a few new skincare products into my daily routine so I thought you might be interested in seeing exactly what I’m using in my bridal skin care routine.
Morning routine:
I wash my skin with Dove soap and I love how it cleanses my skin. You may have noticed on my Instagram that I did the Dove 7 Day Challenge a few months ago and after noticing the results, I decided to stick with it. I couldn’t be happier.
Once I’ve dried my face, I use the which brightens skin and has incredible anti-aging properties. Just a few drops of this each morning have played such a wonderful role in the appearance of my skin.
The last step in my morning skincare routine is to apply SPF. I’ve been doing this for years. The higher the better. Even if you don’t see the sun all day, the light from your computer screen and cellphone can have such a dreadful impact on your skin which is why an SPF if probably the most critical ingredient in a perfect skincare routine. I particularly love this .
Evening routine:
I like to remove my makeup with coconut oil in the evenings. It works so well and my skin is always grateful for the use of the natural properties in the coconut oil. I wipe this all off with a damp washcloth.
Once again, I wash my face with a Dove soap bar.
One of the best things that I’ve introduced into my bridal skin care routine is the use of retinol. I alternate between two particular retinol products. My skin is loving the which is medically graded retinol. I use this every second day. On other the alternate days, I use which is a lesser strength retinol product incorporated into the original ceramide capsules which have great anti-aging properties. The use of retinol in my bridal skin care routine has made such a beautiful impact on my skin that I wish I had started incorporating this product a lot earlier.
Lastly, I use a great moisturiser and eye cream. Recently I’ve been using the and the . They have been working absolute wonders.
Additional treatments:
I really think that it is worth masking your skin. I love to double mask on Sunday evenings to prep my skin for the week. I start with the which is a mousse texture that dries like a clay. It is great for drawing out impurities and reducing the size of pores. After I have washed that off, I will go in with an overnight hydrating mask. I love . I find this to be a winning combination.
Finding the right skin care routine is a matter of trial and error and I have certainly trialed a number of products. Now that I have found a recipe for the most beautiful radiant and glowing skin, I’m going to be sticking with it right up until my wedding. It’s incredible how confident you feel when your skin looks great. I’m finding that I’m so happy to leave home with not even a stitch of makeup on which is a really liberating feeling.
