Every girl needs a few key pieces for transitioning into a new season.  Whether you’re transitioning your wardrobe from winter to spring or summer to autumn, these few pieces can be really helpful in the “in-between” seasons.

1. Denim Jacket

I don’t know why I’ve held off on this trend for so many years.  While planning my packing list for my trip to Los Angeles, I decided I needed to invest in one.  I’ve had SO much wear out of mine since then (take a look at this post).  It looks so great paired with a maxi dress, playsuits, white denim jeans and pretty much everything you currently have sitting in your wardrobe.  One of my favourite ways to wear a denim jacket is with a formal cocktail dress because I think it’s a gorgeous way to style a “smart casual” look.  I absolutely love and .  Honestly, If you take nothing else from this post, be sure to add a denim jacket to your wardrobe!

2. White distressed jeans

I love a great pair of all year round but they really are a great way of freshening up your wardrobe during a change of season.  White is such a versatile colour and it is so easy to mix with every other colour under the sun.  When you don’t feel like thinking too hard about what to wear, grab a crisp white shirt and your pair of and you’ll be dressed to the nines without much effort at all.

3. A great pair of neutral heels

A nude pair of heels is an absolute essential in my wardrobe.  In fact, the bulk of my shoes (flip flops included) are a nude shade.  Again, this makes them incredibly versatile and I know that I can simply reach into my wardrobe and grab a pair of shoes that won’t clash with my outfit.  I simply LOVE .  They look so chic paired with anything from a bridesmaid dress right down to a pair of shorts.

4. A bold red lipstick

A red lipstick is another way of giving your wardrobe a quick refresh and it’s the quickest, most cost-effective transitional wardrobe tip that I have for you today.  My two favourite red lipsticks are one and .  They’re always a crowd pleaser and for good reason – they’re gorgeous!
