Hi everyone! I thought it was just worth writing a little note to say that this is a really weird time we’re living in. There’s so much uncertainty and so much unknown. We can’t predict what will happen tomorrow, much less make plans for the future. Most people are currently in their countries of residence where they will remain for the forseeable future. Most people have spent the weekend at home, practising social distancing. Weddings have been postponed. Concerts have been cancelled. Many are working remotely. It seems a little like we are bracing ourselfs for an invisible monster and, to keep safe, we’re locking ourselves inside our own homes. Odd times indeed.
That being said, there are so many lessons that COVID-19 has taught us. So many people are focusing their attention on practising better hygiene, cleaning their houses, cooking wholesome food, doing at-home workouts, spending quality time with their family & cuddling their pets. We are looking out for our communities and looking to local resources for problem-solving. We have learnt the hard way to be grateful for every small thing.
Due to less traffic and less travel, the environment is starting to thrive again after the punishment we have put it through for far too long. Fish can be found in places they haven’t been seen for years. The air we are breathing is cleaner. Rivers are clearer than they have been for ages.
Life in isolation has taught us to slow down and take a breath. When you think about the lessons that COVID-19 has taught us, a few things spring to mind. It’s reminded us of what really matters in this life. It’s taught us that we need to be kinder than we have been in the past. We’ve learnt that we need to always be mindful of the people that could be affected by us. We need to look after the environment that we share with so many other living organisms. We need to stick together and share a little more love in this world.
