If you follow me on Snapchat (arumlilea) you will already know that this weekend le bf and I headed to Hartebeesport Dam for some R&R.  I have been wanting to go up the Harties Cableway for quite some time now but between being ill last year and studying this year, there just hasn’t been a moment to squeeze it in.  This weekend, however, we seized the opportunity.  The view from the top of the cableway is spectacular.  To be honest, I love any view of Hartebeesport but seeing the water and the mountains from a higher perspective is just something special. We made sure that we were up the cableway bright and early before the crowds and I’m glad we did because we were able to take it all in slowly.  We had breakfast at the top and enjoyed some peppermint tea before heading back down and exploring the rest of Hartebeesport.

We had the loveliest time roaming through the markets and farm stalls.  We stopped at the elephant sanctuary, the yacht club and, of course, the very popular Dutch Windmill.  The gardens at the Windmill are simply beautiful and with the farm stall right there it is easy to pick up a few fresh ingredients and have a picnic in the lawns.

I knew it was going to be well over 30 degrees this past weekend so I opted for an outfit that was light enough to keep me cool.  As we were going to be near the water decided to wear somewhat of a nautical theme too.  I love these high wasted shorts with their gold button detailing and I couldn’t wait to pair them with this cobalt cropped top.  To finish off the look and to ensure I’d be comfortable exploring the whole day, I wore these espadrille flats, also in blue and white.  What do you think of the nautical trend for summer?
