Little Black Dress

A little black dress always reminds me of Audrey Hepburn’s iconic roll in “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”.  She lead the path to ensuring that every woman has at least one little black dress in her wardrobe.  It is one of the most versatile investment pieces you could possibly own.  A great black dress can provide for so many occasions from work to cocktails, date nights and friend’s birthdays.

I bought this particular little black dress at Cotton On and I scooped it up on a bargain.  I’ve worn it with a blazer to create a polished, corporate work outfit.  Today, however, I decided to lighten it up and wear it in a more colourful, playful way for a fun day out.  I thought I’d pair my little black dress with my rainbow water colour heels from Dune (which I happen to be completely obsessed with) and add a really bold, bright, floral necklace.  By throwing on more colour with my sunglasses (last seen here) and a great leather bag, I was ready for anything.  If you have been reading my blog for a while you will know that I am all for versatile pieces in your wardrobe.  The more versatile pieces you own, the more unique outfits you will be able to create so this dress fit right in with my style philosophy!
