We have moved into our beautiful new home as I mentioned in my previous post and we’re settling in so well. We arrived on 30 December and spent New Year’s Eve unpacking and by Saturday morning, I was so ready to dive right into our new kitchen and get baking. So eager that I hadn’t even pulled off the blue protective plastic on the oven before I had started baking. I decided to make this gingerbread cake recipe and my goodness it was delicious!
I’m pretty sure that the kitchen is what sold the house to us because we love spending time in the kitchen prepping all our meals. The centre island is wonderful for being able to entertain and it really opens up space. An additional surface area for prepping areas will always be welcomed. The countertops are in a light grey marble and this compliments the light grey tiling and wall colour that runs throughout the house. The whitewashed cupboards are absolutely beautiful and allows the kitchen to feel light and airy. The amount of light and the tranquil colour of this space really makes me so happy.
This kitchen has a long scullery which I haven’t pictured here. This room is really great because it stores our washing machine, tumble drier and dishwasher and tucks these away neatly so that they’re behind the scenes of the kitchen. I also store all our cleaning supplies for the house in the scullery. If you’d like to see my favourite cleaning supplies, let me know and I can do a separate post about those.
Obviously, having just moved in, our new kitchen is slightly bare of trimmings and a person personal touch but that will come. We have a few ideas in mind and I’ll share those with you when we make some progress on that. Would you like to see more of the house? Let me know if you’d like me to share another post from another area of the house.
I’m linking a few similar blue lace dresses to the one I’m wearing in this post below in the widget. I think I might be ordering one or two myself.
