If you happen to be new around here, you may not have guessed it but I am a stroke survivor. Today’s blog post title I credit to Jill Bolte Taylor who chose to draw insight from her stroke in a remarkable way. I think it’s always important to stop and reflect on where your life has taken you because it often gives you a deeper appreciation of life itself. Five years ago, on 21 May 2014, I had a stroke while at work and it was a day that changed my life forever. If you’d like to learn a little bit more about what actually happened and about my recovery process, you can read this blog post and watch this video where I discuss that in more detail. Today, however, I thought I’d reflect on the journey over the past 5 years, what I have learnt from my experience and how it has impacted my everyday life.
We’re now 9 months away from our wedding day and things are starting to take shape so I thought it was high time I put together Wedding Planning Update II! If you missed my first Wedding Planning Update, you can catch up on that here. I added a poll on my Instagram Stories to see if you wanted an update and I had an overwhelming response. I’m so glad you’re as excited about this as I am!
Goodness gracious, I have no idea why I haven’t done a book review post in so long. While prepping this post, I realised the last one I did was 18 months ago! The books in that post are some of my all time favourites, so go take a read of that one once you’ve read this one if you’re looking for even more great titles. I have decided to call this series of posts the Arum Lilea Book Club because I love the idea of discussing any great books. The books reviewed below all have really impactful themes running throughout and are definitely great conversation starters. I’d love to hear your thoughts on them.
